Damp and timber problems in Craigavon
The Craigavon area, taking in Portadown and Lurgan, is a mix of Victorian and Edwardian brick terraces in the older town centres and large planned housing from the 1960s and 70s.
The older terraces bring the familiar solid-wall, failed-DPC problems. The planned housing brings a different set: flat roofs, concrete construction and ventilation that was designed for a draughtier era and has since been sealed up with new windows and insulation.
Condensation and mould in that later stock is frequently misdiagnosed and mistreated.
What we see most here
- Failed damp proof courses in brick terraces
- Condensation and mould in 1960s–70s housing
- Woodworm in original floor timbers
“I recently bought a new house that had woodworm in the roof space. I contacted Radication and they were extremely helpful and sent a surveyor out within a few days to advise me on the best way to deal with the problem. They gave me a quotation which was very reasonable, and I got the work done. The technicians they sent were extremely neat and tidy and I was very satisfied with the work. I would have no problems recommending them.”
