Rising Damp Control Across Northern Ireland

Rising damp causes wallpaper to peel off, paint to blister and flake, and moulds and spores to grow. With 59 years of experience, we know how to tell it apart from condensation and penetrating damp — which need completely different fixes.

Salts efflorescing on the surface often exaggerate the problem, and deliquescent salts draw further moisture out of the air, keeping walls damp long after the original source is dealt with.

What is rising damp?

Rising damp is groundwater drawn up through the pores of masonry where there is no effective damp proof course, or where the existing one has failed or been bridged.

We provide a professional assessment, internally and externally, to confirm what you are actually dealing with and whether any fungal activity is present alongside it.

The rising damp treatment process

Our surveyor establishes the type of problem first, using meters, experience and tests to establish the full extent and nature of it — and keeps you informed at every step.

Once surveyed, your rising damp control treatment can be specified. Work is undertaken in stages, and the full details are set out in your report so there are no surprises.

We use a special silicone repellent which, applied by experienced operators, stops the damp from rising. Our replastering specification incorporating Radication W.P Salt Inhibitor enables the wall to dry out.
